Founder, Soul & Sea Somatic
As an experienced ocean dance teacher, certified freedive instructor, and breathwork facilitator with a focus on somatics, Julia has spent years mastering the art of connecting deeply with the body, mind, and spirit.
To her, ocean dance, freediving, and somatics are more than just physical practices; they are meditations on the beauty of impermanence and the fluidity of existence. Each movement is an invitation to express, connect, and find joy in the moment.

Testimonies
Paul, Mind Body Water October 2024
Oh wow, where to begin. This retreat was amazing. The group was fantastic, open, supportive, vulnerable, funny, joyous, creative, and a lot of other positive things that a re hard to put into words. This retreat gave me not one, but several brand new things to love and experience, and it fostered a desire to continnue to pursue more of them. Free Diving, Ocean Dance, contact improv, ice baths, all of them were truly eye opening experiences, and I feel like we were having new ones every day. I believe free diving and ocean dance has completely supplanted my interest in Scuba Diving, and I can't wait to train, gear up, and get certified so I can do more with it, and enjoy being down further and longer. All of the group spaces that were provided to share and bond, and dance and play were all so fantastic, and it was such a pleasure getting to know everyone. Julia's love of dance and play and love of somatic exercises and getting more in touch with Life was infectious, and Anthea's encouragement, guidance, and general hospitality really made this trip an amazing experience. Couldn't imagine the trip without them both.

this retreat has empowered me to continue self soothing using somatic techniques and spreading the good word to others... also i feel so much BRAVER (and cooler LOL) after doing so many things for the first time that are kinda spooky! i feel like i have a new community and a new love for these specific kinds of activities that i want to keep cultivating and keep in connection with.
Becca, Mind Body Water October 2024
Mind Body Water was such a magical experience! It was such a safe space, led by such lovely people who not only cared about creating a memorable week but also deeply cared for the participants. The retreat was deeply communal and we became intimately acquainted with the other participants on a real level through journaling and checkins and spending time together on seafaris. I did not expect to connect with my inner child so much on a weeklong trip, but Anthea's workshops were really enlightning and prompted me to contend with concepts that I never expected. Improvising dances under the full moon on a stage in the middle of a cactus field was absolutely mystic. The food at Polvora was absolutely delicious, especially the amazing seafood paella, the poke bowls, and the garlic shrimp. Don't get me started on the absolutely fantastic cakes that we got to enjoy! I went back to NYC armed with somatic tools to help me get through difficult moments, and with the knowlege that I learned so many new skills. I had the oppurtunity to challenge myself by learning to freedive, by getting into an ice bath for the first time, and by grasping the basics of contact improv at Julia's house.
