  • Yogi, Writer

Jackie teaches a breath-focused, trauma-informed yoga class that prioritizes each student's individual experience in their practice. She blends various yogic disciplines, including vinyasa yoga, Ashtanga, Katonah, and Meridian yoga based in Traditional Chinese Medicine, into a comprehensive movement and breathing practice. Classes incorporate breathwork, movement, and meditation, designed to build body awareness and comfort.

Jackie discovered her place within her community through yoga, supporting those around her in finding inner peace, stability, and healing amidst the world's chaos and pain. She views yoga as an ancient practice, healing modality, and pathway for living. In its purest form (free of Western projections), Jackie believes yoga is inherently revolutionary: by healing ourselves, we can better support others. By quieting the mind's fluctuations to find inner spaciousness, we become more capable of holding space for others—embracing both 'good' and 'bad', and holding space for joy and suffering equally. She advocates that for true ground-up liberation, we must focus on empowering those around us, de-centering institutions and encouraging organic, honest growth, connection, and community care.

  • Founder, Mora Yoga & The Healing Quotient 501c3, Freediving & yoga instructor

Anthea's journey of inner healing has led her to cultivate a diverse, yet interconnected set of skills over the past 5 years. As a freediving and yoga instructor (including Acroyoga), meditation guide, and MindBody Medicine practitioner, she weaves together practices that unite body, mind, and heart. Her holistic approach to wellness integrates breathwork, movement, art, journaling, and human connection, creating a unique toolbox for inner healing that draws from her personal experiences with trauma.

Passionate about creating safe, empowering, and joyful spaces, Anthea invites participants to explore this interconnected web of practices in her immersions and sessions. She understands that healing happens in both grand revelations and subtle shifts, and can be both a solitary and communal experience. With her trauma-informed approach, Anthea guides others in discovering their inner magic and resilience, fostering a sense of community where individual and collective growth flourish side by side.

Testimonies

Anthea & Jackie have taught together for 2 years now, below are some reflections on past retreats, their yoga classes and workshops:

Mala, Excitement Yoga

Excitement Yoga was the most incredible thing, between the laughing yoga, meditation, bumble bee breathing, mediation, joy playlist, and blowing bubbles… Thank you for a core memory.

Gabi, Healing Grant Recipient to Mind Body Water 2024

This retreat has empowered me to continue self soothing using somatic techniques and spreading the good word to others... also i feel so much BRAVER (and cooler LOL) after doing so many things for the first time that are kinda spooky! i feel like i have a new community and a new love for these specific kinds of activities that i want to keep cultivating and keep in connection with.

Alex - Mora Yoga Member

Most healing space I have ever found in NYC. The vibes inside are instantly welcoming, all the teachers are incredibly kind and supportive and warm and will make you feel right at home. So far feels like the vibe of people who come here tend to be as warm and welcoming as the teachers so it really is lovely to hang out. Jackie & Anthea’s classes are oriented toward me meeting my body where it is today, rather than pushing myself to the limit. They have a very gentle and safe energy that has been helping me tune into and trust myself. I also really appreciate that they have YES/NO cards to consent for hands on corrections that you can change any time which makes me feel empowered to decide for myself throughout class if I want to be touched or not. Also, the lavender filled stars they give for relaxing breathing exercises are precious. Can't recommend this place enough.
